Patrick Walker

Lawyer Counsellor

Patrick (JP) Walker (he/him) LL.B., M.Ed., R.C.C, joins the Lawyers Assistance Program as a Lawyer Counsellor. He cares deeply about helping lawyers, especially with managing stress, maximizing career enjoyment, and developing resilience. From his own experience, he admits that those are not always easy accomplishments. 

Patrick practiced law for 26 years, both in the private sector and with the Federal Department of Justice. He has taught UBC law school classes, and sat on various provincial Administrative Tribunals. In addition to his Recovery/Sobriety, two of Patrick’s proudest accomplishments include being a member of the Board of Directors of AIDS Vancouver, as well as a founding member of the Law Society of British Columbia’s LGBT+ Practice sub-section. Patrick received his Master’s Degree in Counselling Psychology from the University of British Columbia.
