How we Sleep, Why we Sleep, and How to do it Better

Wednesday, May 15th, 2019 at 12:15-1:30pm

CPD Approved for 1.25 Hour

 Is sleep an issue in your life? Do you get enough? Do you need an alarm clock (and an enormous coffee) to wake up and get started on the day?

In this workshop, you will learn:

  • how a lack of sleep affects us on biological, cognitive, and relational levels;
  • what we understand about the science of sleep, including what our brains are doing when we sleep and why;
  • how to sleep more and better! Tips, tools, and techniques to become a better sleeper and reap the physical, emotional, and cognitive benefits of a well-rested mind and body.

Options for Lawyers is a networking, education and support group for lawyers making job or career transitions and for lawyers wishing to examine their options both personally and professionally. All LAP workshops are confidential and independent from the Law Society.

This group meets the third Wednesday of each month from 12:15PM to 1:30PM in Vancouver at the LAP office, 1080 Mainland Street, Suite 415.

This workshop will be facilitated by Rebecca Smyth, l.l.B., M.C.P., R.C.C. Rebecca is an Associate Director and Counsellor for the Lawyers Assistance Program.  Rebecca is a lawyer-turned-counsellor. She helps people discover more about themselves, further connections in themselves and with others, and integrate challenging experiences. She has a particular interest in working with attachment issues, trauma, grief, and life transitions.
